Patwari nabbed caught red handed while taking bribe

Jammu, Dec 18: Anti-Corruption Bureau, Jammu today arrested Patwari Halqa Seora-Akalpur Anil Sharma, while demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs. 10,000/- from the complainant Jaimal Singh for issuing fard of his land.
A complaint was lodged by Jaimal Singh in the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Jammu regarding demand of Rs. 20,000/- for issuance of fard of land by the patwari. It was stated by the complainant that he applied for the issuance of the fard of his land to the Tehsildar Marh who marked the application to the patwari Halqa Anil Sharma. However, the patwari demanded an amount of Rs. 20,000/- for the issuance of the same.
On the basis of the complaint, as prima facie case of criminal misconduct on the part of the Patwari was made out, a formal case FIR No. 41/2018 u/s 5(1) (d) r/w Sec. 5(2) P.C Act Svt. 2006 and Sec. 4-A of P.C Act was registered at P/s ACBJ and a trap team of the officers/officials was constituted for the purpose, which laid a successful trap and apprehended the accused patwari Anil Sharma S/o Sh. Om Parkash R/o ward No. 13 Sungal Morh, Akhnoor presently posted as patwari Halqa Sarora-Akalpur, red handed, while demanding and accepting the illegal gratification of Rs. 10,000/- from the complainant in presence of the independent witnesses. The accused was arrested on the spot and thereafter, search at his house situated at Akhnoor was also conducted by the team of Anti-Corruption Bureau from where certain incriminating documents were also found and seized. Further investigation into the matter has been taken up.
