SPMR College of Commerce organizes workshop on SEM

JAMMU, Jan 10: A day long state level workshop on 'Introduction to Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) using Analysis of Moment Structure (AMOS)' was organized by Govt SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu.
Shankar M.M, Mentor, Research and Training, CEO CARES, Bengaluru, delivered four technical sessions in the workshop. Prof (Dr) Neetu Andotra, Dean Business Studies, University of Jammu was the chief guest whereas Prof Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, Dean Social Science, Cluster University of Jammu was the guest of honour. Prof (Dr) Anil Gupta, Principal, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce presided over the workshop.
In his welcome address, Prof (Dr) Anil Gupta emphasized upon the importance of research and succinctly stated that research is not the exclusive preserve of the chosen few.
Any individual can undertake the research in any field to develop his/her theories, new models of measurement, laws but at the same time the researcher has to differentiate between the transmitted knowledge and the intellectual one.
Prof (Dr) Neetu Andotra, Dean Business Studies, University of Jammu who was the chief guest enlightened the diverse group of participants including research scholars, academicians and other participants. She stressed upon the all-pervasive and continuous process of research prevalent in every sector of the economy.
In the valedictory session, Prof Bharti Salathia presented the report of all the four technical sessions laying emphasis on the various aspects of research methodology namely, role of theory in model specification, introduction to AMOS, and basic understanding of EFA, CFA and Path Model.
