Week after Sikh man's killing by Pak proxies, separatists shed crocodile tears

Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 11: As if the separatists in Kashmir had been living in cave for some time that it took them over a week to know about the killing of Sikh youth in south Kashmir by Pakistan sponsored terrorists.
The so called Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik have "condemned" the killing of the Sikh youth but only symbolically lest it offends their masters.
The Pakistani proxies didn't refrain from giving a clean chit to the militants for the gruesome act. The JRL said the Sikh youth was killed by "unidentified gunmen."
The JRL has no time for the minorities in Kashmir as their concern against the incident didn't go beyond symbolic statement. No separatist leader visited the bereaved family yet.
Sources said the JRL had planned to be silent on the killing but that some forums of the minority community had questioned their silence.
Sources said it was only after getting criticized by the minorities that the JRL reacted to shed crocodile tears.
But the separatist didn't even think of calling for any protests as usually happens when it meets interests of the Hurriyat leadership.
While some forces in Kashmir have been trying to downplay the incident, following the killing of a Sikh youth by unknown gunmen in Tral, 30 panch and sarpanch have resigned in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir.
The slain youth, who was identified as Simranjeet Singh, was the brother of a newly elected sarpanch.
According to All Parties Sikh Coordination Committee (APSCC), "About 30 in number, all Sikhs who recently won panch and sarpanch elections in South Kashmir, have resigned en-masse in view of security concerns, following the killing of a Sikh youth in Tral area of South Kashmir."
Simranjeet was a taxi driver and is survived by his mother and elder brother, who is the sarpanch of the village.
The killing was carried out by militants around noon in Simranjeet's native village. "He was shot at multiple times outside his home in Khasipora. He was evacuated to a nearby hospital and then to Shri Maharaja Hari Singh hospital in Srinagar, where he succumbed," said a senior police officer.
