| Safai Karamcharis revolt against BJP Corporator, allege her of using them as domestic help | | | Early Times Report
jammu, Jan 12: A Bharatiya Janta Party Corporator has been alleged of using the Safai Karamcharis of the ward as domestic help as a result workers took to road to lodge protest against exploitation by the corportator.
The incident came into light today in the morning when Safai Karamcharis were holding protest against the concerned corporator for harassing them by shifting them to other places who refused to oblige them. They alleged that she has been forcefully using them as domestic help and when some of them resisted against her attitude, she got them shifted to other places as punishment.
"She has been taking various kinds of jobs from us including washing clothes and vehicles, cleansing of house, cooking food etc. When few safai Karamcharis opposed her and denied to oblige her, she got us shifted to far off places just to harass them as we have been working here for the last many years and the new places are very far away from our residence. She did it deliberately in order to punish us," Safai Karamcharis alleged.
They alleged that she has kept 3-4 Safai Karamcharis at her disposal and taking different jobs from them which is against the rules now she is shifting them gradually. They said that the duty of Corporator is to make lanes and drain of the ward and it is the supervisor who has to look after the cleanliness of the streets, lanes but she has been harassing them by interfering in their job. |
