Congress leader conducts tour of Billawar constituency

Billawar, Jan 17: Former Minister and President of District Congress Committee (DCC) Kathua Dr Manohar Lal Sharma conducted 2 days tour of Billawar constituency.
He attended many social, religious and public functions and meetings at village Sallan, Mangloor,Malli, Chingi Makwal, Nagrota, Malti and others. He also met many deputations from the area in which people expressed their resentment against the previous BJP government and its leadership for allegedly neglecting Billawar constituency on all fronts.
Dr. Sharma criticized local leadership of BJP for betraying with the people of the state. He said lot of money was spent on advertisement under "Beti Bachao Beti Padao" scheme but not even a single penny was spent for education of the girls.
He said before elections BJP used to talk about "Ek Nishan Ek Vidhan" but after coming to power BJP leaders move with 2 flags on their vehicle thus making open mockery of their poll promises. He further questioned under what capacity ex MLA's are directed to utilize CDF funds when the assembly has been dissolved and termed this as opening of door for corruption and misuse of public funds.
DCC President came down heavily on state BJP leadership and PM Narinder Modi for bringing country on back foot due to bad governance and anti-people policies. He said Modi ji does a lot of "Maan ki Baat" but he never listens to Maan ki Baat of unemployed, poor, farmers, daily wagers.
He said that he feels pain on seeing that Billawar lags far behind on developmental front even when DYCM and Union Minister happens to be representing Billawar both in state and parliament
Dr Sharma also pointed out BJP to clear its stand on issues such as abrogation of article 370 & article 35 A. He said before elections BJP talks about generating 2 crore jobs annually and 15 lakhs in account of each Indian but nothing progress took on the said issues and these were termed as JUMLAS by BJP national president Amit Shah.
Regarding cross border firing victims he said union Minister Sh Jitender Singh promised Rs 5 lakhs cash and 5 Marla's plot each at safer places to the cross border firing affected people but till now people has got nothing .He said BJP has done Masters in making hollow and false promises with the masses of the state.
He also thanked Governor for sanctioning degree college at Ramkote which was a long time pending demand an said during his tenure he initiated the said process but in last 4 years no progress was made.
Manohar Lal Sharma said that Congress is the only party in state which can provide equal development to all the parts of the state and requested all to strength the hands of Congress party in upcoming state and parliamentary elections. Also present during the meetings were Sarpanch Kulbhushan Singh, Surinder singh, Kabala Singh, Karam Chand Khajuria, Dayal Singh, Uttam Singh, Pritam chand and others
