Early Times Report

Jammu, Jan 17: As a part of club activity, a yoga Competition was held at DPS Nagbani today with an aim to create awareness regarding Yoga and its importance in our life. At DPS Nagbani, we believe that school clubs play an important role in children's overall personality development because they provide them with opportunities to undertake activities that they might not have access to.
These clubs also develop the children's social and physical development leading to team achievements, inspiring them to have higher aspirations. Yoga has been practiced in India for centuries as a way of freeing the mind, body and spirit. In recent years, Yoga has also become popular in the west, inspiring increasing numbers of people to adopt Yoga in their day to day life. Students under the guidance of Yoga instructor Vishal Kumar demonstrated various asanas enthusiastically.
They displayed great energy and enthusiasm in performing the asanas in Yoga Competition which was held in several age categories wherein Ganga House was declared winner in this Competition. The Principal of the school R. K.Verma while speaking on the occasion said that regular practice of Yoga will surely help our students to achieve a better life physically, mentally and spiritually as well. He encouraged the students to practice regular Yoga to remain fit and improve concentration. He concluded by saying that yoga is not about exercise only but to discover the sense of oneness with ourselves.
