Clueless on stray dog menace, he poses as expert on K-issue
Erratic Deputy Mayor does it again

Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 18: Once again, the Deputy Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation has poked his nose into the matter that is beyond his mandate and authority. This time he is out to demand talks between Hurriyat and Central Government.
At a time when the state's summer capital is in such a bad shape with heaps of garbage lying everywhere and stray dogs on prowl, the statements of the Deputy Mayor sounds incongruous indeed.
"He should focus on managing stray dogs and city's garbage. Instead of doing the job for which he was elected, he is trying to present himself as an expert on Kashmir affairs and demanding talks with the Hurriyat," wrote a netizen while reacting to Deputy Mayor's statement.
As per the reports, Deputy Mayor Srinagar Sheikh Mohammad Imran on Friday welcomed Governor Satya Pal Malik's offer to Hurriyat, saying that there should be genuine confidence-building measures to create a peaceful environment in the state.
He said while visiting the family of jailed Hurriyat Conference (M) spokesman Shahid-ul-Islam and urged the Governor to look into the issue and grant him bail on the humanitarian basis.
Imran sought special intervention from the Governor to help release of Shahid-ul-Islam (Hurriyat leader) whose wife is fighting a battle for his release and family is facing many problems.
After that Deputy Mayor also visited families of nine youth at Rajouri Kadal and urged authorities to release the youth as soon as possible.
This is not the first time when the deputy mayor has transgressed the limits. On December 28 last year, he tried to legitimise the slogans like Hindustan Murdabad, advocating that there is nothing wrong in these slogans.
Posing as an expert on Kashmir affairs, the deputy mayor could be seen delegating on 'entangled' Kashmir issue. While talking about the student exchange program, he says in the video that if a student from Kashmir goes to any other state within the country, he should not be ridiculed for saying Hindustan Murdabad. "Have a big heart and don't get annoyed. What would happen even if a Kashmir youth chants Hindustan Murdabad. If we bear the insult of showing our identity card to a solider hailing from Tamil Nadu, what is wrong if our youth chants anti-India slogan," says the deputy mayor in the video clip.
