| People protest against administration | | |

MANDI, Jan 29: People from Plera, Chikriban villages today blocked Plera road for more than an hour in a protest for shortage of basic amenities in the area. A large number of people assembled on the Plera Road and blocked it for vehicular traffic.
People raised slogans against the local administration and alleged that poor state of affairs is putting them in problem.
"There is no proper Road connectivity, shortage of power and water is affecting normal lives and all other aspects related to government authorities are unsatisfactory here," locals alleged and said that no officer of administration "is paying any kind of attention to their issues."While Zareena Akther member from Plera urged the state Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene in this matter as soon as possible.
They said that the students of the area are facing hardship to continue their studies due to the lack of power. Power department keeps record on paper only but always remains silent when raised issue before the authority. They added that they have paid visits several times for the redressal but proved futile due to the ignorance of the department.
People alleged that their survival is at stake and the administration is in deep slumber as the authority is obliged to provide basic amenities to the concerned. People requested to DDC for early redressal otherwise they will block the main road at Mandi tehsil complex. |
