Notorious thief nabbed, stolen items recovered within 3 hrs

Reasi, Jan 29: Reasi police claimed to have cracked a theft case within 3 hours of commission of crime and arrested the thief while recovered the stolen items. Police spokesman said that today information was received at 0530 hrs at Reasi police station that a person has broken the lock of a shop and committed theft from the shop of Mohd Maqbool Zaber son of Abdul Hameed of Ward No. 7 Reasi, who is running a Dhaba in Bus stand Reasi. After receipt of this information, an instant case under FIR No. 20/2019 under sections 457 and 380 of RPC was registered by police. Acting on the complaint a police party led by Inspector-Ashwani Sharma SHO Reasi immediately swung into action and launched search operations in the nearby it's vicinity. Simultaneously, the CCTV footage of the hotel owner was checked which brought into light the gory details regarding commission of offence. The same person was immediately apprehended while he was attempting to go to Judda and disclosed his identify as Kewal Singh of Dansal Judda, Morha Chakli teh. Arnas, Distt Reasi. Spokesman furthers aid that immediately the thief was taken into custody who disclosed his identity as but kept on dodging the Police that he has kept the stolen money in the Bus which is on way to Udhampur.
"Upon this disclosure, a police team led by Dr. Nikhil Gogna-Dysp Hqrs. Reasi went to Police Post Ballini where the bus was signalled to stop, but did not found the recovery amount as the thief was lying, then he was again brought to Reasi where he finally disclosed that he has kept the stolen money under the stones dumped in an open plot, near Ganesh Mandir Reasi", said spokesman. Finally upon this disclosure Police team went to that plot and recovered the stolen amount. Both the arrest and recovery was made within a span of shortest possible time i.e 3hrs.
It is pertinent here to mention that the same person was apprehended earlier in a case under FIR No. 46/2018 under section 380 of RPC of Reasi police station and a challan was also produced in the court of JMIC Reasi vide challan no. 15/2018 dated 12/03/2018. This case was cracked under the overall supervision on Nisha Nithyal-SSP Reasi.
