KVIB organises workshop under NSSH scheme at Kathua

kathua, Jan 29: Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Kathua on Tuesday organised a workshop under National Scheduled Caste Schedule Tribe Hub (NSSH) scheme for Schedule Caste Schedule Tribe MSMEs, here at Brahman Sabha Kathua. The workshop was organised for the dissemination of information about various schemes of the central and state governments for welfare of scheduled caste/scheduled tribe population.
While giving power-point presentation of the NSSH scheme, the Divisional Officer Jammu-Pawan Kumar Gupta said schemes like National ST/SC Hub are envisaged to impart entrepreneurial skills to SC/ST population to enable them to establish the MSME (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises). He said NSSH can play a pivotal role in socio-economic development of these marginalised communities and bring them at par with the mainstream.
He said in order to give upward flip to the business of MSEs owned by SC/ST entrepreneurs; the government has mandated 4% of total procurement by central Ministries, Departments and CPSEs from these MSEs. Speaking on the occasion, district officer Kathua-Harvinder Singh said that KVIB being the nodal agency for NSSH organizes Workshop in association with stakeholders of SC ST MSMEs. He also gave power point presentation regarding the various schemes being implemented by the J&K KVIB, viz Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) and Scheme of Funds for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI).
District Officer requested all the participants to avail the benefits of the various schemes being implemented by the J&K KVIB. The programme was attended by Sarpanches, Panches of various panchayats of Kathua, Regional manager J&K Grameen Bank, Superintendent ITI and representatives of other departments of district Kathua.
