Jammu, Jan 29: The Political and Social Activist who file the RTI in block Marwah, Warwan and Dachhans of Kishtwar District today called on Director General Rural Development Department and Panchayat Raj Rehana Batool and urged upon her for constitution of high level probe committee to look into various embezzlements that took place in these remote blocks of Kishtwar District where mass scale embezzlements of money meant for the public took place.
Speaking to ET, Social and Political Activist Ghulam Rasool Magrey said that crores of rupees had been withdrawn by the officials of the RDD department without execution of the works including the material cost worth more than 50 Crores in last few years in the name of the relatives including brothers, children, wives and others.
He said that their repeated pleas fell on deaf ears as the concerned Block Development Officers of Marwah, Warwan and Dachhan who were involved in huge embezzlement were enjoying senior officials' patronage.
He said that Director General RDD Jammu had assured them that she will look into the matter beside will also punish the guilty officials involved in this scandal.
Meanwhile after uncovering embezzlement of more than 18 Crores as material cost under MGNREGA in last four years on the name of around two dozen blue eyed persons including political activist, former Sarpanches and relatives of the employees of the RDD department in Warwan block. According to the documental trail pertaining to withdrawal of material cost in the name of 9 Panchayats of Dachhan block which in possession of ET,out of Rs. Around 8 Crores, Rs. 17436991 has been withdrawn from Loharna B Panchayat and the release of material is on the name of Ghulam Mohammad, Masood Ahmed, Jagdish Raj, Manoj Kumar and others.
In Loharna A, Rs. 15119267 have been withdrawn as material cost under MGNREGA in the names of Vinod Kumar, Shambu Nath, Anoop Kumar and others.
In Panchayat Lopara A, Rs. 6613967 have been withdrawn against the name of Gopal Krishan, Gopal Nath, Vinod Kumar, Anoop Kumar and others.
In Panchayat Janakpur an amount of Rs. 19874937 has been withdrawn against the name of Rohit Kumar, Anoop Kumar, Parveena Begum, Mangat Ram, Sonu Ram, Abdul Wahid, Yash Nath, Mohammad Amin, Imtiyaz Ahmed, Bidya Lal, Mohammad Akbar & others.
In Panchayat Sounder A, an amount of Rs. 2835744 has been withdrawn against the names of Shahdi Lal, Rajesh Thakur, Arjun Dass, Kishori Lal and others.
In Panchayat Sounder B, an amount of Rs. 386885.815 has been withdrawn against the names of Farooq Ahmed, Asif Iqbal Sheikh, Amir Sohal, Mohammad Ashraf and others.
In Panchayat Lopara A, Rs. 4880651 have been withdrawn against the names of Babu Lal, Brig Nath, Parveena Begum, Shambu Nath, Kishore Kumar, Anoop Kumar and others.
In Panchayat Chicha A, Rs. 6437262 have been withdrawn against the names of Mukesh Kumar, Baghat Ram, Ghulam Ali, Bansi Lal, Parveena Begum, Bikram Parihar & Others.
In Panchayat Sounder C, Rs. 3968058.6326 have been withdrawn against the names of Jatinder Kumar, Shabir Ahmed, Parveena Begum, Lassa Akhoon & Others.
Of Rs. 8 crore withdrawn from block Dachhan during the year 2017-18, majority of the amount went into the kitty of RDD officials and politicians while the amount runs into several crores for the year 2015-28 & 2016-17 as well which also needed to be probed, beside the process need to be set into motion for recovery of the embezzled amount swindled by the RDD employees and Political activist.
