ACEWC calls on Advisor Sharma
2/1/2019 11:50:15 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 1: A deputation of Ajit Colony Extn. Welfare Committee led by its president Bhushan Lal Koul called on Kewal Kumar Sharma, advisor to Governor at circuit house. The members apprised the Advisor of the numerous problems being faced by the residents due to non-existence of drainage system as none was ever laid due to indifferent attitude of those at the helm of affairs.
This is causing numerous avoidable problems including maintenance of clean and hygienic surroundings. During rainy season water even enters the houses spoiling the household things. Stagnant water leads to breeding of mosquitoes causing malaria etc. The members also apprised the authorities of failure of JDA authorities to get the encroached land vacated due to half-hearted attempts and succumbing to the pressure of the political leaders. The cattle reared by these encroachers are a nuisance as they keep roaming in the streets spreading dirt and even enter the houses and the fields causing damage. These cattle are also a traffic hazard on the road leading to 4th bridge. Representations regarding these demands of laying of deep drainage and vacating of encroached JDA land were presented. Hon'ble advisor marked these representations for necessary action to the concerned authorities present there. Those in the deputation included Harbans Singh, Vice President, Sharanjit Singh, Rattan Lal Dhar, Vikas Sharma, Ramesh Chander, Pranav and Arun Jandial, Secretary.
