SAMBA, Feb 5: Enraged over a technical snag in transformer, the locals of Rakh Amb Talli area staged a strong protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD) here today.
The protesters blocked Samba Border road near Rakh Amb Talli for half an hour to express their resentment against the department.
The residents of the Rakh Amb Talli area of Samba assembled on main road this morning and staged protest demonstration against the PDD. They raised slogans against the officers of department and then blocked the Samba border road for about half an hour due to which the vehicular movement remained disrupted.
After receiving the information of the protest, the incharge Police Post and Tehsildar Samba Aman Anand reached the spot and tred to pacify the protesters, however, the agitated people demanded immediate replacement of the transformer.
The protesters relented and lifted their protest dharna only after getting an assurance from the Tehsildar. |
