Dogra Front stages protest against JMC for traffic rules violations
2/5/2019 10:04:06 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 5: Shiv Sena and Dogra Front members today staged protest demonstration against Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for creating paid-parking facility on roads.
They were protesting against the non implementation of double bench decision by JMC and decision of paid parking on the roadside of Raghunath Bazar.
Double bench in its decision stated that the Raghunath Bazar should be made a vehicle free zone as no vehicles should be allowed inside, but by disobeying the order the JMC not only didn't stopped the vehicles but on top of that it declared roadside paid parking alongside the road of Raghunath Bazar Mekong the situation even worse and full of traffic, the protesters said.
"Widening of road space, construction of flyovers and developing link roads and scheme roads are long-term solutions since they involve huge financial commitment. Whereas rigid and "zero tolerant" enforcement of parking rules could be an immediate solution that could bring some respite for the motorists", the protesters said.
Ashok Gupta stated that Roads are meant for commuting, not to park vehicles. Similarly, footpaths have been carved out for pedestrians. Why has the JMC allowed parking on roads and footpaths if the law does not permit this? By allowing parking on roads and footpaths, the
authority is violating the law and encroaching upon the rights of the pedestrians and motorists.
The party people who were present at the time of protest were Ashu, Nanki, Sonu, Nikku, Bantu, Desraj, Sunita, Anita, Shashi,Sham,Vinod,Kala, Abhishek amdvarioud others were present.
