Ateet De Parchhawein showcased at Abhinav Theatre

JAMMU, Feb 5: Manoranjan Kala Kendra, Jammu a premier theatre Kendra of Jammu staged a Punjabi play Ateet De Parchhawein at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu today with the support of Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India. The play is written by Kapoor Singh Ghuman and Directed by Tejinder Singh
Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation was the chief guest on this occasion. Dr. Darakshan Andrabi, Chair Person, Central Waqf Development Committee, Minister of Minority Affairs, GoI and Rajiv Luthra, Chairman Luthra Institutes of Education was the guests of honour.
The play is based on the theme that our sins can escape from law but not from our soul. The play is set in the backdrop of Kashmir where a newly- wed couple enters a houseboat. Husband, 'Saket' leaves the boat as he forgot to carry the suite case from the taxi. The wife, 'Lalsa' realizes that it was the same house boat where she gave birth to an illegitimate son five years back and asked the owner's wife to kill and bury him. A boy, aged about five years, appears on the scene and she comes to know that he is her son. In a conflict the fact is revealed to her husband. Keeping in mind the circumstantial situation the husband says, "My wife's son is my son."
In his address Chander Mohan Gupta appreciated the rople played by the artists to convey the message that sins cannot escape from the soul. He appreciated Manoranjan Kala Kendra to present value based plays like "Ateet De Parchhawein". The actors who played the roles are Aparna Sharma, Sharnam Sharma, Makhan Lal Sharma, Amarjit Kour, Ustatveer, Dazy Bazaz, Rakesh Dogra, Tejinder Singh Premee, Ramesh Sharma and Surinde Goel. The play was designed and directed by Tejinder Singh Premee, Aditya Bharti Assisted the Direction. The play would again be presented at Abhinav Theatre, Canal Road, Jammu at 3.45 PM on 06th February and at Luthra College, Bohri, Jammu at 1.00 PM on 7th February
