NYK organizes youth culture festival

Kathua, Feb 5: In order to promote dogra folk cultural heritage, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kathua has organized a district level youth culture festival at Govt. Degree College, Kathua.
Over 350 uouth participated in group folk dances, group songs, skits, mimes, solo songs and solo dances competitions. Rohit Khajuria, Deputy Commissioner, Kathua was Chief Guest and inaugurated the function by lightening the lamp, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua and Principal GDC , staff members were also present on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the endeavour of NYK Kathua for promoting, preserving and practicing the rich culture heritage and such types of programmes should be link and organize on Independence and Republic day celebrations.
In group song competition GDC Kathua was the winner and Little Angels School 1st runner up and Youth Club Bakhta was 2nd Runner up. In Group Dance competition Rajiv Gandhi College of Education was winner and Cosmic Heart Hr. Sec. was runner up. In mime GDC Kathua was declared as winner and SRM Hr. Sec. School stand at 2nd place.
In solo dance Youth Club Bakhata stand 1st position, GDC Kathua at Second and Rajiv Gandhi of education at 3rd place and in solo song GDC Kathua was 1st and GHSS Bakhata was 2nd Shiridhar Patel, IPS, Sr. Superintendent of Police was Chief Guest on Prize distribution function and given away prizes to the winner teams.
