Drug peddler held with 250 grams of charas | | | Early Times Report Ramban, Feb 6: In continuation to drive against drugs, launched by Ramban police under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramban-Anita Sharma, today Ramban police claimed to have arrested a drug peddler and recovered 260 gram Charas from his possession. Police spokesman said that a police party led by Inspector Vijay Kotwal-SHO Ramban under supervision of Asgar Malik-DYSP Hqrts Ramban and under close supervision of Sanjay Parihar- Additional SP were conducting patrolling of the Ramban Market and its adjoining areas. "During patrolling, one suspected person on seeing the police patrolling party near Jaswal Bridge, Ramban started fleeing from the spot, but the alert cops apprehended the suspected person after a brief chase", said spokesman adding that during search, recovered about 08 Challies of charas like narcotic substance weighing about 250 grams from his possession. Spokesman further said that on questioning the suspected person disclosed his identity as Balveer Chand of Swani, Chanderkote who was taken into custody. In this regard a case under FIR NO 28/19 under section 8/20 of NDPS Act has been registered against the suspected person at Ramban police station and investigation has been geared up to ascertain the source and other persons involved in smuggling of contraband. |
