| Snow Avalanche hits residentail house at Kokernag, 1 dead, 3 missing | | | Early Times Report
Anantnag, Feb 7: One person died and three others went missing after a snow avalanche hit Sondbrari area of Magam in Kokernag in South Kashmir's Anantnagdistrict on Thursday evening.
Reports said that a snow avalanche hit the area on Thursday evening and house Bashir Ahmad Quershi s/o Noor Mohd Quershi has been completely buried under snow. The family members, at least four in number, were been buried under snow, however locals launched a rescue operation in the area to find the missing family members.
During the rescue operation, one dead body was recovered and two family members of the family were also rescued. Deceased is said to be the head of the family and wife is still missing
Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Anantnag, Mohd Younis Malik confirmed to have recovered the one dead body and to have rescued two others. He said yhat efforts are on to rescue the missing lady. |
