Early Times Report
Reasi, Feb 7: An influential Tehsildar in District Reasi has allegedly been withdrawing House Rent Allowance (HRA) despite having government accommodation thus pinching state exchequer of lakhs of rupees and committing financial misappropriation.
Sources told Early Times that the Tehsildar has a government accommodation but by using his contacts in he has been withdrawing HRA illegally and so far he has withdrawn lakhs of rupees in the name of HRA.
Sources told that the brother of Tehsildar is a powerful BJP leader due to which he has been enjoying undue favours and misusing his position. When a senior official was contacted in this connection, he said that the matter has come in his knowledge first time and he would get it probed.
Many in the department have rued the open violation of financial norms that are to be followed by a govt employee. They appealed to the Governor to take strict action against such erring officials who have been misusing their official position.
