The Jammu-Srinagar highway remained closed on Friday for the third consecutive day following heavy snowfall, a traffic official said.
An official said that no vehicular movement would be allowed on the highway keeping the safety of travellers in mind.
“Intending travellers have been advised not to undertake the journey without contacting the control rooms in Jammu and Srinagar,” said an official.
“The decision regarding allowing the movement of traffic on the highway will be taken only after the road is cleared off by the road maintenance agency concerned and after assessing weather as well as road condition,” the official said.
Meanwhile, the traffic on historical Mughal road, and Srinagar-Sonamarg, Gumri remained closed due to the accumulation of snow. |
