| Govt SPMR College organizes extension lecture | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 8: Government S.P.M.R. College of Commerce, Jammu organised an extension lecture on 'Social and Moral Policing' on 8th February 2019, followed by interaction with the students. The lecture was delivered by Tejinder Singh (IPS) SSP North, who has served the state in different capacities like SSP CID, SSP Budgam (Kashmir). In his address, he put impetus on the role of police as well as the citizen in maintaining peace in the state. He also highlighted the problems faced by the police department in general and police man in particular in discharging their duties. He emphasised that the society is affected by so many menaces of drug peddling, theft, criminal activities and police is handicap without the contribution and cooperation of the citizen. If the citizen find anything wrong happening in the society they should immediately inform the police. He said that people should know about their rights and their duties to make the environment crime free. He highlighted the role of police to keep people of the state safe and elaborated on how policemen sacrifice their personal life and festivals just for the safety and security of the society. The lecture was followed by interaction wherein students enquired about the functioning of the police. All the grievances of the students were addressed to by the speaker. |
