Jammu, Feb 8: An urgent meeting of Federation of Industries Jammu was held today under the Chairman ship of Lalit Kumar Mahajan it was unanimously resolved that Federation of Industries, Jammu is an amalgamation of Industrial Associations of Jammu Province.
The meeting was held in presence of Rattan Dogra, Jatinder Aul, Ajit Lal Bawa, Vijay Aggarwal, Deepak Dhawan Co-Chairmen Fedeartion of Industries Jammu and Ravi Mangaloria President Associated Chamber of Commerce & Industries Udhampur.
During the meeting it was resolved that the Bari Brahmana, Gangyal, Digiana, Birpur, Samba, Kathua and Udhampur working as a major Stakeholder for the development of Industrial Sector in our State and represent in all the Govt. Departments related to Industrial Sector of J&K, whereas the Jammu Chamber of Commerce is being represented by the Trade Associations without any representation of Industrial Associations of Jammu province.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the Industrial Sector of J&K is surviving only due to Toll Tax Exemption granted by the Govt. since last so many years keeping in mind to meet the stiff competition by Industrial Units from outside the State in respect of Goods being manufactured by the Industrial Units of the State and at present around four Lakhs people of the State earning their lively hood as employed Directly or Indirectly by the Industrial Sector which is equal to the State Govt. Employment.
It has been brought to our notice that Govt. is in the process of constituting a Committee to resolve the Toll Tax for which w e request the Governor Satya Pal Malik for the inclusion of Federation of Industries, Jammu as one of the Members in the said committee.
