Jammu, Feb 9: Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural in collaboration with NABARD organized nine Digital-Financial Literacy Awareness Programmes in different unbanked villages of the Branch offices Ogmuna, Agrikalan, Phallain, Kirpind, Kotli Mian Fateh, Bhawani, Lam, Chingus & Bagnoti, under the Districts Bandipora, Jammu & Rajouri.
The programmes were aimed to create Digital awareness among the unbanked farmers. The participation in these programmes is in hundreds. The staff teams of all these Branches solved the queries of the farmers and provided them the comprehensive financial solutions related to deposits, loans and other services like internet, mobile banking.
Bishan Dass, Sarpanch Phallain, Jammu alongwith Shamsher Singh, one of the chief guests, informed the gathering about developments in banking sector and latest schemes. He stressed upon the need of using various applications of the bank for getting cashless transactions and also highlighted the importance of cashless transactions that shall not only save time of the customers, reduce their wait times in the bank but shall give boost to direct revenues of the government in the shape of tax collections utilised for development of villages
Representatives of other Line Departments like KVIB, Animal Husbandry, etc also attended the programmes. They highlighted that the programme intends to impact the gathering regarding digitisation by educating the people about the benefits of digital banking and cash less economy. He highlighted that with our thrust on enabling an impactful mindset changes towards Cash to cashless economy.
Viney Mehra, Branch Head Phallain J&K Grameen Bank,addressed the gathering and detailed them regarding the schemes of the Bank.They enlightened people and students about new technologies available in the bank such as multiple uses of Bank cheques, Use of POS Machine, RuPay Debit card, KCC RuPay Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking Services, IMPS, Aadhaar based transactions etc.
