Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 9: Young Panthers held a press conference against the Jammu Kashmir Tourism Department JKTD today.
Addressing the media, State Vice President YP, Partap Singh Jamwal said that Jammu Mahotsav which is organised by Tourism department from 8-10 the February 2019 in which Aabha Hanjura, a Kashmiri Sufi Singer and Sherry Mann, a Punjabi Pop singer has been invited shown on hoardings instead totally ignoring local youth singers, dancers, Dogri literary figures etc. Partap said that Dogri artists which are now a days get acclamation and appreciation all over the globe .But ignoring local talent on such significant event raises fingers towards the organisers intentions.
He said that a huge amount of expenses incurred by the Tourism department for the artists from outside. Is this amount spent on budding local talent definitely it boost the Dogri, Pahari and Gojri culture which is a rich heritage of this Jammu region?.It is ashamed that this event became namesake on the pretext of Jammu Mahotsav in which aim is to collect money and entertainment. Partap said that Young Panthers totally condemned such ignorant and callous nature of organizers. He warned such attitude towards Dogri culture and it's people especially outside artists should be stopped urgently otherwise a wide resentment will be started soon in all districts of Jammu against the discrimination faced by Dogri culture and society in the hands of Kashmir centric bureaucrats and black sheeps whose concern is only money and to route out Dogri culture, ethos and history.
