BLSKS presents 247th Musical play Beti Do Ghar Ka Chirag

JAMMU, Feb 9: To promote the Traditional Folk Cultural of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in close coordination with Sangam Tru Art Production and National College of Computer Education presented 247th its Regular Saturday Series Musical Play "BETI DO GHAR KA CHIRAG "as parts of its regular feature at open Air theatre Durga Bhawan Janipur Jammu.
The theme of the musical play was "Beti Bachao -Beti Padao". The programe was inaugurated by the Chief Guest V.K. Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India, JK Raina, Freelancer Producer Director Films, Dr.Anju Dogra, Health Department, J&K Government, Dr. Anupriya Sharma were the Guest of Honor.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest lauding the role of Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan-(NGO) and underlined the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the state to generate awareness among the masses about various social evils through theatre/drama which are still very powerful medium of communication. Magotra also urged the artists, cultural Organizations to contribute in enriching the cultural heritage of the country and inspiring the younger generation to follow the footprints of their elders in preserving the composite culture of the Nation. The musical Play "BETI DO GHAR KA CHIRAG" written, produced and directed by M.L.Dogra (Chairman BLSKS).
Welcome address of ML Dogra (Chairman BLSKS) said that in his speech the agony of two conservative families who are bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age, ignoring the advise of intellectuals of the society.
The marriage turns into a disaster making the life of both bride and groom miserable. Even bride ends her life owing to pangs of pregnancy at childhood after delivery of a dead baby.
