| Information officers seek due share in KAS induction | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 9: The officers of Information Department today appealed the Governor Satya Pal Malik, Chief Secretary, BVR Subramanyam, Principal Secretary to Government Planning Development and Monitoring Department, Hospitality and Protocol Rohit Kansal, Principal Secretary to Government Housing and Urban Development Department Dheeraj Gupta and Principal Secretary to Government Home Department Shaleen Kabra to implement the Govt Order No. 107 issued by GAD on January 16, 2002 in compliance to the Supreme Court direction. Earlier, the Government has promoted 40 Junior KAS officers in violation of Supreme Court Judgement and also of its own order No.107-GAD of 2002 dated 16.01.2002 wherein it was ensured that no quota be diverted one source of appointment to another and wherever it has been diverted the same should be restored to such source in future. The officers demanded that Government should take necessary steps for bridging this gap of 228 slots by way of allotting all the slots available with GAD and Establishment Committee constituted by the Government for the purpose. The Government has to maintain and notify complete record about the cadre strength of each category of posts in different services as also of the number of in position officers from different sources of appointment in each category. This would enable the department to ensure that while working out vacancies in any category of post of each quota, the sources of appointment of retirees are taken into account. |
