Job aspirants apprehend 'another scam' at SKIMS Bemina, appeal Guv
'Half the time to apply over but online submission still not working'
2/10/2019 11:46:15 PM

Early Times Report

Srinagar, Feb 10: Aspirants for various government jobs as recently advertised by the SKIMS Medical College Hospital at Bemina here have alleged that they apprehend "another recruitment scam" at the hospital due to "mysterious snag in the online application of the forms." Officials said the SKIMS Medical College had advertised various job openings on February 1, 2019. The applicants have been asked to apply online till 22nd of this month.
Officials said the hospital has announced opening for posts ranging from PRO to Junior Assistants and Driver and Paramedics for around 90 vacancies in total.
But the applicants said the link on the hospital website http://skimsmc.edu.in for online application of the forms was first totally not working till February 9 and would show errors.
"But now though the page to apply online is working, the form submission button doesn't work and shows error, which means we are unable to submit the form though by now half the time is over," said a delegation of the job aspirants at Press Enclave here.
Official sources in the SKIMS Hospital said "deliberate attempt by some forces to sabotage the link for online submission of forms cannot be ruled out."
"Some of the higher ups have made this hospital infamous for favoritism and nepotism where even overage candidates have been given job only because they were related to the bosses," said a senior medico on the condition of anonymity.
He said just last year wife of a senior medico despite being allegedly overage was given a job in violation of norms.
Officials said that they have getting complaints over "mysterious errors that are surfacing in the online submission of forms."
A senior official downplayed the said complaints saying the matter would be looked into. "Just yesterday we corrected one such error following social media outrage. But we don't think there could be anything wrong as the hospital authorities are being awarded for their meritorious services," the official said.
The aspirants said given the error in the online submission of forms, the government should accordingly extend the date for filing of the said forms.
Meanwhile the job aspirants have appealed Governor SP Malik and the Advisor for Health K Vijay Kumar to personally look into the matter.
