Several RDD blocks have no BDOs , people express anger

Poonch, Feb 11: People of several blocks of Rural Development Department in this border district have expressed their resentment over the issue that for the last two months at least four blocks are without Block Development officers as a result of which they have to suffer a lot sources said here today . Sources said out of 11 blocks RDD has failed to manage posting of BDOs in Mendhar , Balakote , Surankote and Loran blocks who were transferred against no vice versa. Though the additional charges have been given to officials who according to sources hardly pay any visit to their offices and the people who have had come from far off places for pity works after walking several kilometers on foot have to go back with empty hands , they added. Some protesting persons in Mendhar told Early Times that a person made continuously several rounds of BDO's office after covering a long distanc e on foot just for a signature on his application by the BDO was running pillar to post for the last ten days.
Such was the intensity of the malfunctioning of the office they further added. Meanwhile KIssan Mazdoor Union President Majid Khan Boby has urged the state Administartion to manage the posting of new BDOs to Balakote , Surankote , Mendhar and Loran blocks on priority as people of these blocks have been facing a lots of problems.
When contacted Assistant Commissioner Development ( ACD) Abdul Qayoom Mir told Early Times that he was aware of the problem and has no communication to higher up for making arrangement of BDOs but as soon as the requisite is materialized icharge BDOS was look into the people problems he added.
