Series of protests against Pulwama terror attack rocks Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 15: Seething with anger and anguish against the Pulwama terror attack, a series of protests was held in Jammu by different political, non-political and social organizations.
Condemning with full vehemence Pakistan's most cowardly attack on CRPF Jawans in which 44 Jawans were martyred, scores of Panthers activists spearheaded by Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and Yash Paul Kundal, State President Young Panthers along with other leaders protested against Pakistan's despicable cowardly misadventure at Jewel Chowk, Jammu today amidst complete bandh observed in the town.
The outraged protestors amid raising vociferous anti-Pak slogans torched the effigy of the rogue nation seeking its declaration as a terrorist state Accusing the rogue country for converting Kashmir into a vortex of violence, the ardent protestors raised pro-India and anti-Pak slogans and torched the effigy of Pakistan. Addressing the media Harsh Dev Singh lambasted Pakistan for its pernicious designs in aiding and abetting militancy in Jammu and Kashmir and elsewhere in the country with utterly malevolent, baleful and ulterior motives. He castigated Pakistan for its highly malicious and mischievous designs in sponsoring militancy particularly in J&K and pushing in proselytized traitors to vitiate peace and harmony on our side of the borders.
Castigating Pakistan for its terror training camps, its Hawala deals, its drug trafficking, its moral and material support to secessionism besides its highly rancorous propaganda in the print and electronic media, against India, Singh lamented that Pak's notoriety had assumed alarming and unacceptable proportions. He said that the belligerent neighbour endorsing all kinds of support to the secessionists in Kashmir and brutally assassinating more than 44 CRPF jawans and injuring dozens should be an eye opener for the international community.
Urging upon the GOI to go the whole hog against belligerent neighbour for its persistent misadventures, Singh said that the issue of economic sanctions against Pakistan with stoppage of all financial aid from institutions like IMF, World Bank, ADB was required to be pursued vigorously.
While taking a dig at the NDA Government, Singh regretted that the BJP which would harp on its jingoistic slogans like '56 inches chest of PM Modi','10 enemy heads against one Indian martyr' besides its unrelenting harangues earlier had miserably retreated from its tall pronouncements with all rhetoric proving hollow rants.
The J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, under the presidentship of BS Slathia, with an active participation of large number of lawyers, today lodged a massive protest outside the Court premises, against the dastardly terrorist attack on a CRPF convoy at Pulwama Srinagar, wherein more than 50 CRPF jawans were martyred. After holding the protest demonstration, the lawyers under the banner of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu, took out a peaceful and impressive protest procession from J&K High Court Complex, Janipur Jammu, raising pro-security forces slogans, which passed through the main Bazars of Jammu City. The lawyers in one voice expressed their complete solidarity with the security forces and their families and stressed that the martyrdom of jawans must motivate the Government to unleash a final and fatal blow to the menace of terrorism.
The lawyers abstained from work in the High Court & Subordinate Courts in Jammu today. The main entry gate was closed and nobody was allowed to enter the Court premises. This apart, various Bar Associations of Jammu province at District & Tehsil levels also abstained from work and protested against the dastardly act of the militants upon CRPF Jawans at Pulwama.
Speaking on the occasion, Slathia strongly condemned Pakistan for carrying on the policy of sponsoring terrorism against India, harbouring terrorists on her soil and using them against India.
Pakistan, who has failed to provide democracy and development to its own people, has been harping on the policy to disturb the state of J&K by sponsoring terrorism.
The J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu has taken a very serious view and urged upon Prime Minister to take strict action against Pakistan to teach her a lesson so that they does not dare to attack on our security and people in future.
In another protest, hundreds of Young Panthers activists today staged protest demonstration against Pulwama terror attack and took out a protest rally against Pakistan.
The rally started from Bhagwati Nagar to Tawi Bridge via Canal Road, Bakshi Nagar, Kachi Chowni and reached Dogra Chowk.
The rally was led by Partap Singh Jamwal, State Vice President Young Panthers, Tarseem Singh, District President Young Panthers, Bhanu Partap Singh, Jammu West President Young Panthers rally.
After reaching the Dogra Chowk, the activists blocked the Tawi Bridge road and burnt the effigy of Pakistan. The activists raised slogans "Pakistan Hai Hai", "Modi Tere 56 inch Ke Seene Ka Kya Hua, Kya Hua" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai".
Addressing the media, Partap Singh said that the centre government should give hard hitting lesson to the terror organizations and also to anti-national separatist leaders.
Hundreds of volunteers of Team Jammu today held massive anti-Pakistan and anti-terrorism protest and stood in solidarity with the families of martyr CRPF personnel who lost their lives in yesterday's terrorist attack in Pulwama.
Raising anti-Pakistan, anti-terrorist slogans, the volunteers of Team Jammu demanded stern action against Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism in Kashmir Valley. After passing through various bazaars of city here, the protestors demanded befitting reply against such a cowardice act of terrorists.
"We condemn the brutal attack and stand in solidarity with the families of those who lost their dear ones in the terrorist attack," said Chairman Team Jammu while addressing the protestors.
"Centre and the state governments should adopt a proactive policy to flush out and eliminate all terrorists operating in different parts of the state," stated Zorawar Singh Jamwal and added "We stand by our forces and their families. Their martyrdom will not go in vein and we are of complete belief that our security forces will give them befitting reply while eliminating anti-national elements from the state.
The people in Kishtwar District today held a strong protest against the cowardice terror attack on CRPF convoy near Awantipora in Pulwama in which more than 40 CRPF personnel attained martyrdom while several others got injured.
The angry people from different sections of the society assembled at Dak Bungalow Chowk Kishtwar and raised anti-Pakistan, pro-India and pro-security forces slogans. The protesters demanded stern action against the militants and Pakistan who is perpetrating terror on Indian soil.
Later, the protesters also marched towards old DC office complex Kishtwar wherein several political and social activist addressed the gathering and condemned the terror attack on CRPF in one voice.
The members from minority community also observed complete shutdown.
Keeping in view of escalating tension, elobrate security arrangements were put in place to thwart any attempt of nefarious elements to destabilise peace and communal harmony in the area.
Meanwhile, Kishtwar Bar Association also observed a pen down strike and condemned the terror attack on CRPF jawans.
The lawyers also abstained from the work in the courts.
The workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena under the leadership of their president Ashok Gupta held a massive protest in Jammu city. During the protest, the agitated Shiv Sainiks burnt Pakistan flag to oppose the barbaric Fidayeen attack on CRPF vehicles.
Gupta demanded that strong action needed to be taken against organizations who promote terrorism.
Massive anti-Pakistan protests rocked Ramban, in the wake of the Pulwama terror attack in which at least 44 CRPF personnel lost their lives.
Demonstrations, torched tyres and blocked NH-44 for hours was staged by the protesters at district headquarter Ramban. Braving the rains, people took to the national highway and protested against the killings. Raising anti-Pakistan, anti-terrorist slogans, the protestors demanded action against Pakistan for "sponsoring terrorism in the Valley."
Members of the Beopar Mandal and various political and social organisations were seen protesting in large numbers. Market of Ramban, Batote and Chanderkote were remained closed in protest of "the dastardly acts of frustrated terrorists" in Pulwama, Kashmir on the call of Beopar Mandal Ramban.
People from all walks of life in various part of district Ramban paid their tributes to the martyred jawans. In solidarity with security forces, they observed a bandh in various part of district.
Former Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Ramban Neelam Kumar expressed shock and grief over the gruesome killings and demanded to take strong action against the terrorists.
Today various groups political parties, social organizations, traders condemned the Pulwama attack on CRPF conveys. At early in the morning the beopar mandal of Vijaypur market organized a March past & organized mourn for departed souls and also raised slogans against Pakistan & also burns the effigy of Imran Khan Pak Prime Minister.
Similarly, the youths of Gurha Slathian Vijaypur have also organized protest rally from Gurha Slathian to Vijaypur. The Vijaypur town & it's surrounding observed closed. The people are demanding military action against the militants sponsor & supporters & urged the Govt. Of India to revoke the security & privileges of separatists who are provoking the Islmic as well as Pakistani agendas.
Hundreds of traders today held a protest demonstration against Pulwama terror attack and took out a protest rally from Ware House to Bikram Chowk. Traders stood in solidarity with the families of martyr CRPF personnel who lost their lives in yesterday's terrorist attack in Pulwama.
Raising anti-Pakistan, anti-terrorist slogans, the traders demanded stern action against Pakistan for sponsoring terrorism in Kashmir Valley. The aggressive rally led by Sh. Rattan Lal Gupta, President of Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market Jammu demanded that organisations who promote terrorism should be gunned down and the most strong action should be taken.
Deepak Gupta, General Secretary of the federation on this occasion stated that a very strong action should be taken and Pakistan should be burned down as that nation understands nothing less than language of bombs and bullets. Gupta stated that Nation salutes martyred soldiers and we all stand united with families of martyrs. We pray for speedy recovery of the injured. Terrorists should be given unforgettable lesson for their heinous act.
Meantime he appealed people of Jammu to maintain peace and cautioned against forces inimical to peace in Jammu and leaving no stones unturned to disturb peace of Jammu.
