Will Modi Govt withdraw security to separatists?
2/15/2019 11:51:35 PM
Early Times Report
srinagar, Feb 15: While entire nation is pained over the martyrdom of CRPF personnel, the separatists are silent over this dastardly incident thus exposing their double standards.
It is these separatists, who have been taking services of security forces for last so many years.
The government last year released figures, which revealed that protecting separatists has cost over Rs 15 crore in last 10 years. The cost includes that of guard, escort and Personal Security Officers (PSOs) provided to the separatist leaders.
Over Rs 6 crore have been spent on security for separatist leader and cleric Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. According to statistics, Rs 1.27 crore were spent on the police escort attached with him. The government also disclosed that Rs 5.06 crore were spent on guards for Mirwaiz. The Mirwaiz lives in the Nageen area in downtown Srinagar and his residence is guarded by the police. The government further disclosed that Rs 2.34 crore were spent on guard duty for separatist leader Prof Abdul Gani Bhat. The police guard and six SPOs are attached with Prof Bhat since 2011. The government revealed that Rs 3.09 crore was spent on the guards and PSOs of senior Shia leader and separatist leader Molvi Abbas Ansari.
The government has also spent Rs 1.04 crore on the security of Shia leader Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi. Six police guards and six SPOs provide a security cover to Mosavi. The government spent Rs 1.65 crore on security for separatist leader Bilal Gani Lone. Besides, there are so many separatists who are being provided security by the government. Despite that they did not condemn the incident.
The security has been provided to Mirwaiz after his father Moulvi Farooq was assassinated by militant Abdullah Bangroo.
Separatists have been condemning the militant killings. "We are insecure due to militants and have been protected by security forces. Despite that separatists do opposite to that," said Ali Mohammad, a shopkeeper in Batamaloo said. "Who will celebrate deaths? This has exposed the separatists' double standards," he added.
Another Face book user Adil wrote, "Where are separatist leaders? If a militant kills somebody is it justifiable?"
On this, Abid replied, "This is sheer double standards by separatists? Where are champions of human rights? Why is Narendra Modi soft towards separatists? Why can't he take steps to teach them a lesson?"
