Black list leaders with separatist leanings from contesting elections
2/21/2019 11:15:52 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 21: Government withdrawing security of the separatists and the political activists of mainstream parties in Kashmir seems to be an attempt cool down the tempers in the country.
Terror attack on CRPF convoy at Lethpora on Srinagar-Jammu highway, which martyred 40 CRPF jawans last week, has triggered outrage across the country. "The security of the separatists and the political activists, who advocate the cause of Pakistan, should have been withdrawn long back. BJP government waited for more than 4 years to take a decision," said an analyst.
He said that "since the day BJP led government took over the reins of the country the nationalist people have been screaming at the top of their voices that anti-nationals should be cut to size and the Kashmir centric politicians with separatist leanings should be cut to their size."
The analyst said that "there are many so-called mainstream politicians in the Valley who after contesting elections talk in the language of Pakistan and describe terrorists as their own people. The government is aware about who they are. Such people should be even prevented from contesting elections and they should be black listed."
An expert said that the news about security being withdrawn has sent these so-called mainstream leaders into their shells and they are pleading that "withdrawing security cover has made them vulnerable and they could become the soft targets for the terrorists."
He said that "someone needs to tell them that they had developed the habit of sailing in two boats. Now they have been told in clear terms that if they want to sing in Pakistan's tune then they will have to go to Pakistan and be there. They need to realize that they cannot glorify terrorism and violence, and nor can they can keep on eulogizing Pakistan and it's so called leaders."
An observer said that BJP led government in the Centre is trying to undo the wrongs, which it had done, by joining hands with the party like Peoples Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir. "The BJP leaders were told by one and all that they have committed a mistake by entering into an alliance with PDP but they did not listen. Now the BJP leaders have realized that they committed a huge blunder. But many people are claiming that BJP is trying to regain its vote bank by acting tough against the separatists and the so-called mainstream leaders in Kashmir," the observer added.
