2/26/2019 11:31:11 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Feb 26: 10+2 Contractual Lecturers Association has expressed regret over the fact that the state government has made only assurances while it failed to take concrete steps in addressing the issues of the lecturers for which they are on protest for more than two years.
Addressing media persons, the president of the Association, Arun Bakshi said that we have been sitting on hunger strike for the last 743 days but except assurances no concrete steps have been taken by the government till date.
Bakshi said that we have been called by the Advisor to Governor through Director School Education Jammu and we were informed that the case for our regularization is under serious consideration of the government while the Advisor KA Ganai had issued instructions to the Chief Secretary and Secretary to Government, School Education Department regarding the matter.
Bakhshi also informed the media that he had two three meetings with the Governor J&K state who while responding assured categorically that he will regularize the services of 10+2 contractual lecturers definitely. It is pertinent to mention here that on the one hand the Governor is promising to regularize our services and on the other hand Secretary School Education Department vide govt order no. 78 Edu of 2019, Dated:- 22-02-2019 had issued some instructions to DSEJ/DSEK to notify the posts and make fresh selections at divisional level now which is a foul play with the careers of contractual lecturers who have already been rendering their services in the department previously and with those who have rendered their services for a longer time and also whose services stands discontinued after serving the department for last so many years. Arun Bakshi also informed that some of the political persons are trying to sabotage our protest by planting some persons who are not in any way a part of executive body of the association. They have done an offence by using the banner as well as the letter head of the association, he added.
