Women's Day Celebration in the School of Teacher Education on the Theme 'Balance for Better'

Jammu, Mar 11: School of Teacher Education, Cluster University Jammu, celebrated 'International Women's Day' as a mark of respect, appreciation and love towards women on 8th of March, 2019 in the Multipurpose Hall of Government College of Education, Jammu. The programme revolved around the International Women's Day 2019 Theme 'Balance for Better'. The function began at 1:00 p.m. which included a rainbow of programmes covering three major sub-themes: Subtheme I: 'Think Equal, Build Smart and Innovative for Change', Subtheme II: 'Empowerment of Women in Workplaces and at Homes' and Subtheme III: 'When Women Stand for Women'
The programme started with the Welcome Address by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, Dean Faculty of Education.
Dr. Lone welcomed Dr. Sangeeta Nagari, Principal, Government College of Education, Jammu by presenting a bouquet as a token of appreciation. All the faculty members who graced the occasion with their presence were invited for the 'Cake Cutting Ceremony' followed by some words of wisdom by Dr. Lone. Dr. Nagari further addressed the gathering and threw some light on the main theme 'Balance for Better'.
All the activities were judged by panel of experts who served as Judges of activities, i.e. Poster Making and Seminar. The panel of judges included Dr. Neelam Dhar, Dr. Rajinder Kour and Prof. Ashu Jolly. While the judges compile their results, Jasmine and Sonia Shahi, pupil-teachers of B.Ed.-M.Ed. Integrated Semester II, gave their dance performance depicting the theme 'Empowerment of Women'. First, second and third prizes in Poster Making Competition bagged by Renu, Shilpa and Sonia respectively. In the Seminar, Sheriya won the first prize, while Dhanupriya and Jasmine secured second and third prizes respectively.
Dr. Raj Singh Narania, Coordinator, School of Teacher Education gave his valuable inputs about 'Women Empowerment' to the gathering. This was followed by Vote of Thanks by Anu. The programme was organized by Dr. Ana Bali and Ms. Ravinder Kour, assisted by Sheriya, Rahul , Pankaj and hosted by pupil-teachers Sheriya, Amanpreet and Anu.
The function ended with a refreshing tea along with snacks.
All the faculty members along with the Dean Faculty of Education, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Lone and Coordinator, Dr. Raj Singh Narania and pupil-teachers posed for a group photograph.
