CLUJ Science Conference concludes

Jammu, Mar 14: The second day of mega two day first Basic Science Conference organised by School of Sciences, CLUJ concluded with a huge response from students and faculty of CLUJ, who attended the technical sessions on varied topics ranging from Mathematics to Physics and Geology.
Prof. Anju Bhasin, Vice Chancellor, CLUJ and Patron of the conference presided over the concluding ceremony of the conference. She asserted that CLUJ education is a chance to aspire, inspire, explore and achieve. She urged the students and faculty to make the University a hub of excellence in Research, Innovation and Academic Development that generates entrepreneurship and employability.
Bhardwaj's brainstorming lecture on Mathematics "Hilbert's infinite Hotel Paradox" encapsulated the basic theorems and principles of Mathematics which kept the students totally engrossed. Prof. Raghav Verma in his talk "Impact of Particle Accelerator Technology on day to day life", stressed on the hallmarks of a highly technological society and the prospects of new discoveries in the medical field.
The second session deliberated by Prof. Arun Deep Ahluwalia, Former HOD Geology, Punjab University Chandigarh, dwelt on "Building a Great Nation through Excitements of Earth" in which his major focus was on the concept of Global Geoparks Network, where India's presence is almost negligible. He stressed on the importance of preserving fossils and studying them for research. The session was chaired by Prof. G.M. Bhat from Deptt. of Geology, University of Jammu.
The evening session chaired by Prof. Meena Sharma, Rector Kathua Campus, University of Jammu included two significant talks by Prof. Fozia S. Qazi from Dept. of Mathematics, Islamic University, Srinagar and Prof. Rajeev Gupta from Dept. of Chemistry, University of Delhi. Prof. Fozia deliberated about Mathematics in real world and educated the students on the basic concepts and its relevance in their studies.
Prof. Rajeev Gupta talked about "Luminaries of Indian Sciences" in his address and exhorted the students to take keen interest in all the new discoveries happening around the world.
The concluding ceremony of the conference was attended by Dean Academic Affairs, Registrar Controller Examinations, Deans of all faculties, Coordinators, Associate and Assistant Deans and other members of teaching fraternity. The Organising team of the conference was headed by Prof. S.P. Sharma, Dean Sciences with Dr. Sanjay Verma and Dr. Naveen Anand as Organising Secretaries and Dr. Chanchal Khajuria, Dr. R.S Pathania, Dr. Anil Verma and Dr. Rajinder Sharma as coordinating members.
