Unidentified persons attempt loot on ATM of SBI at Kishtwar

Kishtwar, Mar 20: After a major security breach of weapon snatching involving the Personal Security Officer (PSO) of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, the unidentified persons last intervening night attempted the loot on ATM of State Bank of India (SBI) situated in Ward No. 13 of Kishtwar Municipality on Kishtwar-Jammu National Highway near Malipath some one kilometer from Police Station Kishtwar while the unidentified buglers successfully looted the cigarettes, Gutkha and other item worth around one lakh from two fruit vendors situated barely less than 100 meters away from Police Station Kishtwar.
The incident took place at the time when Kishtwar District is on high alert following the weapon snatching incident as well as in view of upcoming parliamentary elections in the District .
As per the details available with "Early Times", the unidentified buglers enter inside the ATM chamber of SBI at Malipath Kishtwar and break the ATM into two pieces, however it is not known whether the miscreants involved in breaking the ATM manage to steal the cash from the machine or the incident is simply an attempt.
Speaking to "Early Times" Branch Manager SBI Kishtwar Ankush Sharma while confirming the loot attempt on ATM of the bank said that the staff member after visiting the ATM in the wee hours of the morning notice the damages to the ATM machine and they accordingly brought the matter into the notice of the Kishtwar police who is investigating into the matter.
The Branch manager did not provide any details with regard to the cash in the ATM or the figure cash if any stolen added that the ATM has been outsourced by the bank and it is only the company who could provide exert details on stolen cash if any.
After hearing about the incident, senior police officers rush to the spot and inspect the scene of crime and also register an FIR in this regard.
Kishtwar police also register FIRs for the theft at shops of two fruit vendors and after registering of FIRs, Kishtwar police is scrutinizing the CCTV cameras installed inside the ATM as well as near the crime scene involving the theft at shops of fruit vendors outside Police Station Kishtwar.
Reacting to continuous theft at shops situated outside Police Station Kishtwar, the shopkeepers mocked at Kishtwar police non serious approach in safeguarding the property of the poor shopkeepers and called for immediate installation of CCTV cameras at various locations in and around Kishtwar town.
