Poverty in demand?
Shruti R Sharma3/20/2019 10:42:22 PM
In a country where government provides you reservation in education, jobs and even promotions if you're poor or backward, I don't see any reason for not being the same in demand. Taking the example of recent 124th constitution amendment bill which was passed by both the houses recently and since our hon'ble President has also given his assent to this bill, it is now an act which amends article 15 and 16 of Indian constitution. This will provide 10% reservation to economically weaker section (EWS) among the general category candidates. And hence poverty came into demand. With benefits in studies ad jobs, even rich and capable nationals of our country will behave poor and when this happens, the development of a nation is hindered widely. Many people are considering this as a step towards equality for all. But is this really a step towards equality and development for our nation? Will giving more and more reservations lead us on a path to become a world power or least a better nation? Since only 40% seats are now available for still unreserved candidates, who I reckon are also citizens of the same country, and most of them deserve well for their respective fields but are being cornered and left jobless by this trend of reserving more and more people. And then we say that talented youngsters are being brain washed by western nations, well I request you to ask yourself this question once again. Reservation in any sector hasn't proven to be effective to any country's growth in any part of this world. And this isn't only about the reservation for EWS but to the overall concept of it. See the destiny of our nation, instead of being a 0% reservation country by this time; our ministers are focusing on every possible ways in which they can provide reservation so that maximum number of people falls into its clutches. And why not, isn't this what we call vote banks? Instead of improving education quality and quantity of schools and colleges in far flung areas of our country, instead of eradicating poverty, planning reputed jobs in government and private sectors, strengthening our economy globally, introducing people to the importance of education or instead of making schemes like universal basic income, isn't it just effortless to just give them reservation. One simple solution for all the problems in India, reserve them all, no matter how poor the quality of education is or how drastically limited jobs are available or how much the youth is being depressed mentally for not being able to get a job and earn a respectful status in society. Government is thus giving populist measures to divert the attention of masses. Reservation is hence like a termite in our homes, it is massacring continuously and we will only notice it unless it has doomed the very basic foundation of our country. The agenda of political parties instead of increasing reservation should be to bolster a particular class of society to a level each year in their tenure that they are no more in a need for reservation, to make them firm and stand their ground and in this way only can we see the dream of becoming a reservation free India, an India where every citizen is capable enough to seize their opportunities themselves instead of being bred by the government. And who else can we keep our role model in this race to annihilate reservation than our own neighbour Bangladesh. We all know how respected Sheikh Hasina successfully expunged reservation from its very roots in Bangladesh and proudly set an example for countries like India that development of one's nation does not and should not fall into the trap of vote banks, that development is far far above from this cat and mice race of sitting on the throne, that nation is bigger than your dirty politics and that when you are in a hold of such great power, you should not just talk about change, like a normal person, but should actually make it possible. She proved that as long as one keeps on salving their wounds, it is never going to heal. And it can only heal with the firm determination and a successful agenda. We can also dream of a reservation free India but right now our focus should be on how to intelligently implement the reservation so as those who are in actual need of it should get it, not those who are just enjoying the fruits of their forefather's victimization. There should be categorisation in SC ST categories too so that everyone is being given equal rights. In this way only can the creamy layer of youngsters will finally be able to be placed in deserving fields without any disappointments and we will lose less intelligent brains to foreign countries and to their development. Also every citizen should realize their importance in this race because understand that it is time to stop asking for ointments when one knows that they've already cured a long time ago. And then only can we imagine a day where no Indian would demand any reservations for themselves. And this is the dream we all should be dreaming.
