| SDMs using vehicles without registration numbers | | 'RULES FOR FOOLS' | |

Vijaypur, Mar 24: The dictum 'Rules are for Fools' aptly fit in context with the Sub District Magistrate Vijaypur and SDM Ghagwal as their official vehicles had no registration number.
Sources told Early Times that it has been more than an year that these vehicles 'Mahindra Bolero' were purchased for SDM Vijaypur, Ghagwal but till date vehicles are being used without registration numbers which have to be got fixed within one month of purchase.
The pictures of vehicles were clicked in the in the premises of Samba District Administration when these officials had come to the office of Deputy Commissioner Samba to attend some meeting few days ago. These vehicles were spotted without number plates, violating rules, as the temporary number of official vehicle of SDM Ghagwal, which is valid for one month only, got expired seven months ago. Interestingly the office of SDM Vijaypur has seen three SDMs since the purchase of the official Vehicle but no one took the pain to get the vehicles registered.
"Surprisingly ARTO Samba office is just adjoining the office of DDC Samba yet no cognizance was taken by the transport department. Moreover Traffic Police which show their might to the commoners did not muster courage to stop the vehicles of the SDMs.
"If these responsible officials continue to flout Motor Vehicle Department rules blatantly then what can be expected from the general public," a local said. |
