Poonch, Mar 24: After September 2014 floods, tainted officials of Irrigation and Food Control department made a fortune from SDRF funds.
Construction of a big A bi bund was started which awaits completion but huge funds were withdrawn in the name of the said bund. The tainted officials include a JE, AEE enjoying patronage of the Xen who allowed unnecessary works in Poonch river just to please the blue eyed persons and in turn, they got hefty commission. The bund was constructed to please a few people but a large chunk of population downstream S K Bride was ignored deliberately and now those people who are at risk.
Now, on the said protection bund, irrigation and FC department by helping a contactor out of the way has started another work.
The said contactor is digs the surface area of the river and uses the same material and then dumps the same material on the existing bund.
Even a portion of road area is being cut deliberately to earn money though illegal means.
People expressed their helplessnes are doing unnecessary work to earn money. Locals said that benefit was given to few people and a large chunk of agriculture land ignored deliberately as those people failed to grease the palm of officials.
Locals have demanded a vigilance inquiry into four years work done by the department and assured that a big scandal worth several crores wil come out |
