Early Times Report

JAMMU, Mar 24: A shocking incident came to fore when the staff of the Government Trauma Hospital Vijaypur allegedly denied treatment to accidental victims and referred them Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu.
However, officials of the hospital refuted allegations and claimed that the concerned technician had asked staff not run old Xray machine on genset due to technical issue, so the patient was referred to GMC&H Jammu.
On Sunday, a female injured due to accident near Swankha Morh and people brought her to Emergency (Accidental) Hospital Vijaypur, Samba where doctors claimed that there was no electricity since morning due to which they could not attend the patients. "Within half an hour, she was referred to GMC&H Jammu for required treatment in the absence of electricity, "Shubham and Naresh, who brought her to hospital, told and raised questions over the poor health system in the state for not providing required machinery, manpower and other resources due to injured persons do not have other option rather than moving other health institutes.
An official told that some days ago, the alone old X-ray machine had gone out of order due to technical error and it was made functional after fixing by the concerned technician and he asked staff members to do not use machine on Genset. Since then, machine can be run on electricity as it is very old machine and patients are running from pillar to post.
"The concerned authority is aware of the fact but neither a new machine has been provided nor manpower," he added.
