| DC Kathua's photo-opportunity with Jitendra Singh goes wrong, removed | | |  Saahil Suhail

Srinagar, Mar 26: Deputy Commissioner Kathua was on Tuesday removed by the Jammu and Kashmir Government after a photograph showing him receiving the nomination form of Union Minister Jitendra Singh while standing up in his officer chamber went viral on the social networking sites.
Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rohit Khajuria, who is also the returning officer of Udhampur -Doda parliamentary seat stood up for a photo-op when Union Minister Jitendra Singh and BJP's candidate came to file his nomination papers, viral photograph shows.
The act of standing up for a BJP leader during the filling of nomination papers is a violation of ECI guidelines and it's apparently proves that the officers is inclined towards a particular political party.
The Election Commission of India and Chief Electoral Officer J&K took a strong note of the act of DC Kathua and wrote to Jammu and Kashmir Government separately following which he on Tuesday he was removed and posted as Special Secretary to Revenue Department.
General Administration Department issued an order No. 423-GAD of 2019 dated 26-03-2019 removed Rohit Khajuria as DC Kathua and posted in the revenue department as Special Secretary. Two others officers were also transferred in the same order. |
