2 drug peddlers, 4 bovine smugglers arrested in Kishtwar

Kishtwar, Mar 31: In three different raids conducted by the Kishtwar police in different areas of Kishtwar arrested six accused.
As per the details available with "Early Times" Kishtwar Police under jurisdiction of police station Kishtwar during naka checking by ASI Shamsudin along with other police officials near Hidyal chowk intercepted two suspect persons who after sensing police presence started to run away from naka party and accordingly they were nabbed and when subjected to frisking both of the suspects were found in possession of charas and contraband capsules. In this regard case FIR No. 54/2019 u/s 8/20 of NDPS Act have been registered against them at PS Kishtwar and further investigations are being conducted to act against all those involved in the drug trade. The drug peddlers have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed S/O Wali Mohammad Sheikh R/O Matta, shopkeeper by profession and Mohammad Saleem S/O Ghulam Nabi Ganie R/O Ganie Mohalla of Kishtwar. The arrest and recovery were made by police party led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar Inspector Bashir under the close supervision of Dy. SP Headquarters Kishtwar Ayaz Ahmed Sheikh.
During the preliminary investigation, it has been found that one of the suspect Mushtaq Ahmed was shopkeeper near Hidyal chowk and used to sell drugs /capsules to youths especially students who were victims of this racket.
District Police has requested general public to extend full cooperation to police and furnish details of those indulging in drug trafficking. In another two different cases, Kishtwar police in order to curb the menace of bovine smuggling arrested 4 bovine smugglers from Drabshala and Kuleed area under Juridiction of Police Station Kishtwar and rescued 7 bovine animals. In this regard FIR No. 50/2019 and 53/2019 U/S 188 RPC and section 3 of Prevention of cruelty to animals Act stand registered at Police Station Kishtwar.
