20% households to be covered
4/4/2019 11:41:31 PM
Early Times Report

UDHAMPUR, Apr 4: Member AICC and former President Pradesh Youth Congress Pranav Shagotra said that the historic declaration of "Minimum Income Guarantee Yojana" NYAY made by Congress president Rahul Gandhi would bring revolution in the country for the poor if Congress is voted to power.
He said that as per the scheme poorest 20% of the families in the country would be guaranteed Rs 72000 a year and this amount will be deposited directly in the bank account of the women head of the family.
More than 5 crores families and around 20% households will be benefitted by this historic step. He said that this announcement will be implemented with full commitment as we did earlier in the case of farm loan waiver in the state like Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
Flanked by President DCC Udhampur & Ex-MLA Krishan Chander Bhagat; Secretary PCC Narinder Sharma and Secretary INTUC Sumit Magotra, Shagotra told media persons in a press conference at DCC Office Udhampur, that Congress fulfilled the promises earlier made during Assembly elections . He said that the difference between Modi's BJP serves the interest of top businessmen of the Country only but Congress on the other hand serves the interest of farmers, poor and downtrodden sections of the society.
He said that Right to Food Act, Right to Job (MGNREGA), Right to Information (RTI), RTE etc. are the major achievements of the Congress led UPA Government in the centre. Congress always framed the policies and programmes keeping in consideration the poor populace of the Country. He said that NYAY is a Scheme which is brain child of top economists of the country and congress is sanguine that poorest of the poor families will be benefitted out of it.
By this way, empowerment of womenfolk will also be ensured, Shagotra maintained.
He said that Rahul Gandhi's dream is to decrease the gap between the rich and poor in this country which has widened during Modi regime.
