Highway issue: JPPF urges Governor to explore alternate mechanism

Jammu, Apr 14: Urging the Governor Satya Pal Malik to devise some alternate mechanism for solving stallmate banning civil traffic on National Highway on Sunday and Wednesday kept exclusively for Army Movement, Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) has suggested to accommodate the emergency ridden civil passengers by use of the vacant National Highway once the Army convoy has travelled and reached at Transit place fixed safely.
Addressing the meeting President Pavittar Singh Bhardwaj expressed anxiety over the public Hue and cry on the issue.
While the army has to be provided the national Highway exclusively for operating their convoys there can be safer intervals available which could be allowed for civil traffic also and these have to be provided to accommodate atleast the emergency ridden civilians, if at all the ban is to continue for Civil Traffic on Sunday and Wednesdays.
Speaking further about the problems to be discussed with the Governor President complained that the repeated requests for granting an audience by the governor have not succeeded till date and the same is pending with the office of the Governor J&K State for needful.
