Early Times Report

JAMMU, Apr 14: The members of Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice, in a press release issued here said that some top leaders of Congress are claiming that during their rule the state especially the Kathua-Udhampur-Doda parliamentary Constituency made many achievements in the field of development & Education. They wonder why such leaders don't feel ashamed to speak such big lies. Let us first take the case of Education during last 20 years. The infamous Scam regarding ETT happened during Congress or Congress-NC coalition while Education was headed by Congress Ministers only Innumerable new schools were opened only to benefit some favorites, throwing all other norms to the winds & that why most of such Schools are defunct these days having 9/10 students & 2/3 teachers. Former Education Minister Naeem Akhtar later did a good deed by merging many such schools into some viable School. No Chief Minister gave any importance to Education as Late Sheikh Mohd Abdullah had done by keeping this important Portfolio to himself. The Congress made Middle/Matric pass the Education Ministers during whose minister ship the department suffered a great loss & many Scams occurred which were highlighted by the Media. The greatest surprise is that all such scams & irregularities were conveniently ignored by all the Chief Ministers of the state as well by the high command at the centre. All the road works started under PMGSY during Vajpayee's Prime Minister Ship were almost abandoned & were taken up only 2/3 years back & now the work is proceeding progressively.
In fact NC-Congress are the harbingers of militancy in the state by resorting to unprecedented riggings in Assembly elections in the state in 1987 by making an alliance of convenience with the then late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. The members of Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice appeal the responsible voters not be carried away by the hollow claims of Congress / NC leaders & to make a scanning of last 70 years of misrules, mis-governance of loot & corruption of all these spent forces & also selfish turn coat politicians and exercise the voting power to elect only honest and efficient representatives and where there is no scope of such exercise, they should press the NOTA button of EVMs.
