JKYSAC extends support to Vikarmaditya
4/16/2019 9:50:41 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Apr 16: The JK Youth Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKYSAC) of Displaced Persons (DPs) of 1947 from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) have now decided to support the Congress candidate Mr Vikarmaditya Singh from Udhampur-Doda-Kathua constituency during the ensuing parliamentary elections going to be held on April 18, 2019 respectively.
The decision was taken because these people were made to settle by the then Congress led dispensation in different districts of Jammu Province including Kathua, Samba, Jammu, Udhampur, Reasi, Rajouri and Poonch.
In a press statement, the president of JKYSAC has urged the people in general and PoK refugees in particular to vote and support the Congress candidate Vikaramaditya Singh from Udhampur-Doda constituency, as the then Congress government has allotted us land in good quantity which is now worth crores of rupees besides gave Rs 3500 to each family and Dr Karan Singh the father of congress candidate Vikaramaditya has provided the land to be allotted to PoK refugees at Gadi Garh and other parts of state. He said that previous state government shared by Congress has recommended the relief package amounting Rs 30 lakh per family for PoK refugees but the BJP government sitting at center had reduced it to only Rs 5.5 lakh, which is cruel joke for PoK refugees. He said that other recommendations made by the state Government in the field of reservation in government jobs, admission in professional colleges had been ignored by the BJP led Government of India, which is a serious concern.
Sharma said that DPs of 1947 from PoK are in relentless struggle for the past more than six decades to achieve their reasonable and respectable rehabilitation package and the then state government led by Omar Abdullah and shared by Congress recommended a good package for PoK refugees but the same has been deflated by Modi government.
