Architecture Students and Faculty bring Laurels to SMVDU

Katra, Apr 17: Students and Faculty of School of Architecture and Landscape Design brought laurels to the School and SMVD University yet again in recently announced examination results of NPTEL Courses conducted by IIT's.
In total two faculty members and seven students of semester-V (3rd Year B.Arch.) registered for the course(s) coordinated by IIT-Roorkee. Course was spanned across eight weeks and involved the rigorous online assignment work every week corresponding to online Lecture modules. In addition, there was also a off-line exam for 75% of total weight age conducted by the organizers at different venues across the country. All the students i.e. Zainab Bhat, Sonam Aggarwal, Aanchal Thaman, Sadiya Tariq, Riya Choudhary, Naman Allawadi and Mohd. Hussain qualified the course with Elite Tag i.e. scoring 60% and above marks in this nationwide course conducted. Both of the two faculty members i.e. Ar. Sourovee Dutta and Ar. Anoop Sharma, qualified the course with Gold certification tag i.e. scoring 90% and above marks. Pertinent to mention that course was a very good learning resource for semester class work for the students of B. Architecture in SMVDU and all the students qualified the course with said faculty members as 'Course Mentors'. With more courses available at NPTEL now; faculty and students of the School are more motivated to take up these online courses coordinated by premier institutions of the country pertaining to regular teaching and class work.
Fittingly, School of Architecture students and faculty are continuously bringing very good laurels to the University off-late particularly under the leadership of Prof. Rajeev Garg. Already, most of the students of pre-final year got semester internships under reputed Architectural organizations in the country and abroad. School is very active in conducting many activities of national and international importance in recent past and is fast establishing itself as a leading academic institution of the country imparting Architectural education. Vice-Chancellor of the University expressed happiness over the success and congratulated the Dean and head of the School. Further, more participation in these courses is advised to faculty and students which is also impressed upon as one of the key mandates of higher learning these days all across the country. All other faculty members, students of School of Architecture and Landscape Design also congratulated the awardees.
