Panun Kashmir reiterates boycott call for Lok Sabha elections
4/17/2019 10:54:11 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 17: In view of the ensuing Lok Sabha elections for the remaining constituencies of Kashmir Valley, Panun Kashmir led by its President Vijay Bhat had a review meting to take stock of situation and assess the outcome of the boycott call given earlier and its impact on the first phase of polls in Valley.
Vijay Bhat expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the poll boycott in Baramulla constituency which witnessed very low rather negligible polling from KPs. Panun Kashmirthanked community for reposing faith in Panun Kashmir and adhering to boycott call and hope the community will repeat same boycott for other constituencies in Valley.
Ravinder Jalali, Convenor said that disenfranchising Kashmiri Pandits in Lok Sabha election is a biggest human and constitutional rights violation. It is sad that the KPs who have been living in other parts of country outside valley had been disenfranchised and are being forced to vote for the valley candidates and in valley only when their basic demands are not fulfilled to which Panun Kashmir has taken a strong note.
Panun Kashmir want to make it clear to New Delhi that Kashmiri Pandits were driven out of their homes and hearths in valley on the basis of faith/religion and It was further resolved that the only solution for the return and rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits in valley is the implementation of 'Margdarshan' resolution of 1991 passed unanimously by entireKashmiri Pandit community in exile that envisages a separate Homeland in Valley. The return of KPs is not only a matter of survival and concern for KPs but it will ensure the return of India to Kashmir and is also concerned with sovereignty and integrity of India.
Panun Kashmir has decided to go for total boycott of these elections and appealed the community for total Boycott for the remaining Lok Sabha constituencies of Valley. PanunKashmir has unanimously resolved and once again strongly appeal the entire Kashmir Pandit community not to participate in the poll process of remaining constituencies of Valley like Srinagar and Anantnag, till this community is resettled in the valley and separate homeland is established within the valley, for which Margdarshan resolution of 1991 is the basis that will ensure the return of KPs. Panun Kashmir strongly reaffirm that KPs will vote only when process of reversal of genocide takes place and are settled in valley and will vote in only valley, till then all these democratic processes are irrelevant for KPs.
