ECI taking against violators of MCC after Supreme Court Nudge: Soz
4/17/2019 11:06:01 PM

Early Times Report

SRINAGAR, Apr 17: "The entire country knows that the Election Commission of India (ECI) started taking some action against violators of Model Code of Conduct, only after Supreme Court's push said Prof. Saifuddin Soz.
The general feeling in the country is that the Election Commission of India has been seriously avoiding any annoyance to the BJP. The people also know that it (ECI) has hardly come full circle in the discharge of its duty to the Nation, he further stated.
He said that until the other day, it was visibly not interested to say or do anything against any BJP member, who had violated the code of conduct, openly.
Didn't the so-called Yogi, Adityanath make statements, one after the other, that were loaded with communal narrative? After the Supreme Court's prod, it has started, at least, issuing mild warnings around its campus, he stated.
"Almost all members of the National Opposition and the general public feel anguished that the attitude of Election Commission of India is openly pro-BJP. Otherwise, how can ECI be party to, for instance, selective raid on the house of DMK leader Kanimozhi? Since ECI was party to the raid, the entire country feels bewildered" he further stated.
He also stated "Doesn't PM Modi continuously bring in Armed Forces to show his bravado? What is Election Commission of India doing in that respect?
As for J&K State, the ECI is prepared to do anything at the behest of Ruling Elite in Delhi.
Didn't ECI watch silently the actions taken by the NIA in Kashmir, around the election time"?
