JKPSA attends private schools' meeting in Goa

Jammu, Apr 17: Two days meeting of leaders of private schools Association of all states was organized regarding the hardships faced by all the private schools affiliated to the CBSE or recognized by the respective state governments in Goa concluded here today. This programme was sponsored by National Independent Schools Alliance (NISA) with the collaboration with Centre for Civil Society, New Delhi. General Secretary Of the J& K Private Schools Association Jammu Ajay Gupta represented as convener of North Region. State leaders from entire country discussed the series of challenges presented by the centre and state government to discourage self financed low budget Private schools.
In the meeting it was disclosed that more than one lakh Private schools were closed in couple of years due to the unrealistic and hypothetical policies of the centre and state government. The imposition of all types of labour laws, commercial laws, industrial laws, municipal laws etc. on the one hand and restrictions on the fee hike by the FFC has become main reason of extinction of budget private schools on the other hand. To comfort the sufferer members passed a resolution before going to any extreme step Core team of state heads will initially approach the Ministry of HRD after parliamentary election with a plea that government at centre & state should be made Regulatory body, not an administrative body for the budget private school. Uniformity in percentage of fixing the Fee of the students in the entire country according to the inflation or grant financial assistance by the state or centre government as per the expenditure incurred per child by the government in the government schools was also the agenda of the meeting.
