Early Times Report

Poonch, Apr 17: Declared successful earlier, a girl has been shown among the failed candidates in Poonch by the authorities of the education department.
According to the reports, Shabnam Kouser daughter of Ashiq Hussain passed her 8th class examination from Middle School Dungas and got School Leaving Certificate from the said school.
The certificate has counter seal and signature of Zonel Education Planning Officer Poonch along with headmaster of the concerned school.
Shabnam sought admission in Girls Higher Secondary School Sheeshmehal in class 9th. According to her, "on 17th of April when she went to school, a teacher came and send her back to home saying that a teacher from MS Dungas had taken her TC back". On confirmation, the MS Dungas authorities said, the girl was found absent in T1 of 8th class and was declared failed. Javid Reshi the chairman of Insaaf Movement said the girl belongs to a poor family and is being harassed.
If certificate was issued, then how they cancelled the result, Reshi questioned. He has appealed to Governor Satya Pal Malik to conduct inquiry into the matter.
Shabnam has said that, her poor father has invested more than 20 thousand rupees for fresh class books, admission, uniform and other items.
She has appealed for justice. When Contacted to Chief Education Officer Poonch, he said "failure is failure". He said, it was mistakenly passed whereas the correct result is unsuccessful.
Locals especially JKIM demand inquiry into the irregularity.
